Sometimes if I fancy a particular strain or if a customer/friend wants a particular strain it might mean me opening a new pack myself; seeing as people often ask me about smaller deals or more mixes then I thought id put one or two of these opened packs up for offer. They are of course in perfect condition and recently only opened by us..

This is a selection of Kannabia strains, aimed at giving a taste of Spain. I have recently met with Pato a few times who owns Kannabia. We have not stocked their seeds recently for several reasons (take overs etc) but have always respected Pato’s ability and I am hoping to start stocking them again. One of the first batches includes the impressive Mataro Blue and I have a half pack available consisting of:

Afrodite

One of the most popular genetic straits among Spanish growers is Jack Herer. Its results outdoors are legendary. With genetics from a highly experienced grower (who began back in the Seventies and is still growing today, exclusively with his own crosses), the clones we were given were a cross between Jack Herer and a male Morocco-sourced sativa plant that was good for producing hash and had a characteristic fresh-lemon flavour. After improving it with endogamous crosses, we achieved a high-yield Jack Herer with two dominant phenotypes: indica (fast-growing) for indoors and sativa (but early flowering) that is ideal for outdoors.

It had the psychedelic effects that are characteristic of sativa varieties. In this case we used the reversed pollen from this variety to pollinate one of our champion indica mother plants, and the results were incredible. A hybrid with structure, flavour and sativa effects, but with the extra yield and faster flowering times of an indica. The resulting plant had an excellent calyx-to-leaf ratio and from the first few weeks of flowering becomes covered in a thick coat of resin. The smell given off by the stems when rubbed is particularly striking. The leaves are average sized, narrow, fairly serrated and a colour that tends towards a dark lime-green colour, a good indicator that it is not being fertilised adequately.

A lush-growing plant, it is advisable to let it have a 12-to-15-day vegetative cycle. The roots struggle to break out of the plant pot, forming a thick root network. Be careful not to allow too long a vegetative cycle, though, or it could get out of hand. It has the typical sativa structure, with a large central tail from which numerous side branches sprout to run parallel with the central one for much of the flowering period. The stems are very robust from first growth. No problems with mould or other fungi have been found, nor any problems worthy of note with spiders, thrips or greenfly. Outdoors the plant will grow no taller than 2 m, although this is made up for with its outward growth, which can cover several square metres. By topping you can achieve a large number of strong branches and hundreds of cuttings. You can increase the EC gradually, week by week, because the plant withstands high EC levels well, turning them into compact flowers.

You will achieve abundant harvests with a high THC concentration and surprisingly hard buds. Make sure you cure Afrodita well to bring out its incense and pine flavours. This plant adapts easily to all sorts of different climates in Spain and Portugal, proving itself in different outdoor conditions with vigorous growth and resin development. It produces a rich hash when extracted with ice. Outdoors it will be ready for harvested outdoors by the third week in September or by the first week in October for the more sativa-rich phenotype. Indoors it will be ready in eight weeks, although if you give it nine, the results can be extraordinary.

BCN Diesel

This is a cross between an NY Diesel XXX from the United States that was passed on to us by a good grower from Barcelona (hence its name, in homage to the strain’s city of birth) and a very indica-rich Afghan plant from Dutch growers. The resulting cross flowers early and is quite a lot more productive than the original Diesel. To keep the cross stable, we crossed the variety again with our Black Domina. After a long selection process of the resulting varieties, we opted for the one with the most noticeable Diesel characteristics that met our parameters for yield and speed of growth. The resulting hybrid combines all the vigorous growth and yield of an indica with the structure, smell and flavour of the original Diesel.

When growing your first BCN crop, you should bear in mind that it can reach a considerable size in next to no time, and owing you should also remember that the vigour of the hybrid means that the plant will grow quite a few centimetres more once it has started flowering. We recommend about 15-20 days’ growth (from seed) before switching to flowering.*

*All growing times should be adapted to the size of the plant pot and the available growing area.

When flowering, the plant demands large amounts of fertiliser, although the lemon-green colour of the leaves may mislead you into thinking that it needs more. This is not usually the case. Try to keep the EC levels during flowering between 1.8 and 2.2 so as not to over-fertilise the plant and saturate the roots.

From the beginning the plant gives off a penetrating odour, which becomes a “stench” throughout the flowering cycle.

The best results with this variety are obtained outdoors using a chemical (mineral compound) fertiliser. That way you will bring out all the Diesel flavour while making the most of all of the indica component’s yield potential. Indoors the plant is notable for being well-suited genetically for SOG growing.

BCN Diesel will be ready in eight weeks, although certain seeds may need another week to reinforce the flavour and ripen properly. We therefore recommend using carbohydrates from the second week of flowering onwards.

The effects of this plant are quite psychedelic but very smooth, lively and energetic. Ideal for creative types.

Your harvest will consist of buds heavily laden with trichomes that will give you an insatiable appetite. After a short burst of activity a sense of relaxation will wash over your whole body. Owing to its high THC levels it is recommended for medicinal use.

Blue Mataro

The most difficult genotype in our entire catalogue is a three-way cross featuring the best of several predominantly indica strains. One of these is one of the most indica-rich Blueberries that we have, with a very high yield and maintaining all the properties that this variety is known for (short height, fast flowering and a bluish tone).

Another of the components is an original Afghan (Mazar-i-Sharif), a very good resin producer that also gives a generous harvest. The final ingredient in this indica cocktail is our Black Domina, which gives it a more ramified structure when grown outdoors or indoors in seven-to-ten-litre pots, and more height than the results of the first crosses.

Even so, the plant forms a thick central bud, hardening because of the number of flowers that form overlapping bunches. The plant starts to form crystals as soon as it begins to flower, eventually becoming covered in a thick coat of sticky resin, like large drops of caramel. It immediately produces trichomes with lime-green heads, and by the time it has nearly finished it has a whitish/golden appearance with a penetrating smell. When subjected to low temperatures the colour turns a bluish purple. It forms thick, healthy cuttings that are suitable for cloning.

Median nodes develop with huge, fat leaves. It withstands large amounts of fertiliser when growing and is resists to periods of drought very well. Indoors we recommend using a lot of wattage to optimise the crop’s results (800W/m2). The recommended vegetative cycle indoors is two weeks for a good yield. With hydroponic systems the results are particularly impressive and quick to ripen.

It works very well outdoors, occupying a circumference of several square metres. We recommend propping it well to support the weight of the buds. With good pruning, the plants will grow into large bushes up to 2 m tall.

The flowering cycle is 58-65 days, so it will be ready for harvesting in early September. We recommend using carbohydrates to bring out all the flavour. The smell is very deep, with a hint of bitter orange. The high is fast and deep, lifting you up and making you float before firmly bringing you back.

Very high THC levels. Produces a very strong hash when extracted with ice.

Jack la Mota

Possibly the most renowned variety within the international cannabis scene.
It was created in honor of the known pro-activist Jack Herer.
Ideal for growing in SCROG, produces long and compact buds with an intense aroma of incense to mind the taste of their ancestors.
Has a euphoric effect, really active, a bomb mentally stimulating.
In hydroponics is where it shows its full potential and calyx-leaf ratio is very high.
