Quick update on the latest babies that have been planted with the intentions of growing outdoors this summer. They include some new strains that a friend in the states has been breeding,  a collection of Sweet Seeds; Ice Cool, Sweet Thai and Cream Caramel and also some Moby Hash from Dinafem.

There will hopefully be a few more strains but we will see what happens at Expo Cannabisur in a few weeks. I am looking to stock a few more breeders if I like everything about them of course but as always I will grow them myself before we offer any in the store.

These seeds were germinated straight into seedling soil in tiny pots and have spent about a week in them. They could stay in there longer but seeing as the weather is already hot and windy then they will dry out really quickly so this is the sensible option. Now into pots about 2l with their regular soil. They will be out on the porch most of the day and brought indoors under artificial light for a few hours daily too for another week or so.

Here’s a quick vid I made up of the seedlings transplant, I’m dying of allergies the last week or so so forgive me mumbling and sniffling: Read the rest of this post>>

Spring Cannabis Grow and Planning for Summer

This year I am hoping to take the summer off from growing indoors and just have a few great outdoor plants.

As many people know, it gets very warm here in Spain in the summer and airecon is really the only way to grow indoors and with times still being tough for most of us, saving a few thousand k’s of electricity will help enormously!

So I am thinking ahead and starting a new batch here right now, some Critical + and Moby Dick from my friends Dinafem and also a small selection of autoflowering strains that will will be ready in about 60 days or so. I may also add another strain, dependant upon my mood this week :-)

This spring grow will hopefully yield me enough to get me through the four months of summer. (I estimate my own personal consumption about 2oz per month but that can go up a lot if I have lots of friends over during the summer)

Sun is Shining, Weather is Sweet

The sun is already great right now, nice daytime temps of around 70f+ so a few of the new plants are going to be taking advantage of this already.

Working out your own schedule, not just your lights is really important; for example I’m a very late night person, often up til 5-6 am and up by noon so my plants schedule right now is lights on at noon and off at 6am (18hrs).

At noon they go outside in the sun til about 6pm at the moment, then they go indoors into their grow room. They are only about ten days old and I will do this throughout the veg cycle and then see how things look.

Of course when they go into 12 hours of light the automatics will stay on that 18 hrs, they are short and will continue to be easy to move in and outdoors.
