Cannabis Strains

Cannabis strains are available in the entire spectrum from pure Sativas to pure Indicas, and in every combination in - between. There are 30% Sativa - 70% Indica strains, there are 80% Sativa - 20% Indica strains, and many, many 50% - 50% combinations, as well as others.

It takes some time and a lot of experimentation to find the most effective balance for each person, but one thing is for sure; there is a cannabis strain available somewhere that will suit any user.

The following synopsis are a generalisation and not an exact science....

Indica

Fat Leaves and Short Plant:

indica strainThe Indica highs are most often described as a pleasant body buzz. Indicas are great for relaxation, stress relief, and for an overall sense of calm and serenity. Indica cannabis plants are also very effective for overall body pain relief, and often used in the treatment of insomnia. They are the late - evening choice of many users as an all-night sleeping aid. A few pure Indica strains are very potent in THC, and will cause the "couchlock" effect, allowing the smoker to simply sit still and enjoy the experience of the smoke. Indicas originally come from the hash producing countries of the world like Afghanistan, Morocco, and Tibet. They are short dense plants, with broad leaves and often grow a darker green. After flowering starts they will be mature in 6 to 8 weeks. In our own medical cannabis research we have found that generally Indica is the best strain for pain relief, insomnia and anxiety.

Sativa

Thin Leaves and Tall Plant:

sativa strainThe Sativa high is often characterized as uplifting and energetic. The effects of a Sativa cannabis plants are mostly cerebral. They give a feeling of optimism and wellbeing, as well as providing a good measure of pain relief for certain symptoms. Sativas are a good choice for daytime smoking. Sativa's typically take longer to germinate and flower, and they grow more gangly than Indica breeds. Sativas are just about the opposite of Indicas. They are tall, thin plants, with much narrower leaves and grow a lighter green in colour. They grow very quickly and can reach heights of 20 feet in a single season. They originally come from Colombia, Mexico, Thailand and Southeast Asia. Once flowering has begun, they can take anywhere from 10 to 16 weeks to fully mature. In our own medical cannabis research we have found that generally Sativa is the best strain for nausea, depression and loss of appetite.
