Chewy Cannabis Medibles Recipe

This is a recipe I just threw together in a hurry for a few guests that have a high tolerance..

I used a pressure cooker and added a pack of butter (250g), approximately 4oz of fully cured trim and some water to bring the level up to the minimum mark in the pressure cooker. I simmered for about 45 minutes. Let it cool to warm and then drained it through a cloth into a wide pan which I then placed in the fridge overnight.

The next morning the ‘fat’ had separated from the water and I drained away this unwanted water leaving the butter that  was now fully infused into it.

Now for the food itself: I simply put the butter into a baking tray and melted it slowly. Into this I added a small tub of peanut butter (I find peanut butter helps to leave an after-taste of peanut butter as oppose to cannabis and that helps as sometimes the taste can be too strong for some people to enjoy), I also added a medium size bag of marshmallow pieces, half a small box of puffed wheat or sugar puffs to us English folk and a couple of tablespoons of honey. This was simply mixed together and put in the oven for about 12 minutes at 160C. Left to cool and chopped into small squares or bars.

There are various methods of measuring the thc or cbd content of medibles and that can be a problem. I suspect that it isn’t very long before we have a standardised method of measuring and I suspect those rules will come from the USA and not be the most logical to us Europeans.

I will go into this a bit more on the medical cannabis blog at some point but for this instance I made a quick calculation of my own.

Approximations:

bud 15% thc

120g of bud equals 18g of thc

divided into 18 squares is 1g extracted thc per square.

I said these were potent, you could start by adding just 1oz of herb. Its easier than trying to resist eating a whole square after the first powerful bite.
